Two Arrested in Connection with 2024 Triple Homicide

Detectives from the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Murder and Robbery Unit have arrested two suspects in connection with the murders of three young men in the Okhahlambeni area of KwaMaphumulo. The arrests took place during an operation conducted on the night of Wednesday, 22 April 2026.

The incident occurred just after midnight on 25 April 2024, when police responded to reports of a shooting at a homestead in Okhahlambeni. Upon arrival, officers were directed to a rondavel, where they discovered the bodies of an 18-year-old and two 22-year-old men. All three victims had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and were declared dead at the scene.

At the time of the killings, the suspects remained unidentified. A protracted investigation by the Provincial Murder and Robbery Unit subsequently uncovered their identities, leading to the arrests. The motive for the killings has not yet been established.

The arrested suspects, aged 29 and 55, are scheduled to appear in the KwaDukuza Magistrate’s Court on Friday, 24 April 2026. Authorities have indicated that further arrests are a possibility as investigations continue.
