Suspect Arrested in Delft with Mandrax Tablets Valued at R2.76 Million

A 45-year-old suspect was arrested in Delft, Western Cape, on Monday, 20 April 2026, for dealing in drugs.

Members attached to Operation Prosper were conducting stop and search operations in Buczane Street, N2 Gateway, Delft. Officers stopped and searched a silver Honda Civic vehicle and its occupant. The search yielded ten mandrax tablets and an undisclosed amount of cash believed to be the proceeds of crime.

Further investigation directed members to a storage facility in Stikland, Bellville. At the facility, officers discovered 46 packs, each containing 1,000 mandrax tablets. The total seizure amounted to 46,000 units of mandrax tablets, with an estimated street value of R2,760,000.00.

The suspect was arrested and will appear before the Bellville Magistrate’s Court soon.
