On Friday, 10 April 2026, at approximately 02:00, members of the Anti-Economic Crime Task Team and the Counterfeit and Illicit Policing Team conducted a raid on identified premises in Site B, Khayelitsha. The operation targeted suspects believed to be extorting businesses in the area.
During the search of the premises, authorities discovered two 9mm pistols and a total of 90 rounds of ammunition hidden inside one of the houses.
Three suspects, aged between 23 and 30, were arrested for the illegal possession of firearms and ammunition. They are due to appear in the Khayelitsha Magistrates Court once formally charged.
