SAPS Seize R2 Million in Drugs in Cotswold, Suspect at Large

Mount Road SAPS members confiscated drugs with an estimated street value of R2 million during a routine patrol in Woodpecker Street, Cotswold, on the evening of Wednesday, 08 April 2026, at approximately 20:29.

According to police reports, SAPS members were flagged down by a private security company while conducting patrols in the area. The security personnel had already searched a male foreign national, allegedly finding drugs in his possession. The suspect had reportedly been at a storage locker when his suspicious behavior triggered an alarm, prompting the security company’s response.

Upon seeing the SAPS members arrive, the suspect dropped a black plastic bag and fled the scene by jumping over a high wall. He remains at large.

Police subsequently searched both the storage locker and the discarded bag. No arrests have been made at this stage, and investigations are ongoing to locate the suspect.
