Police Seize R289,200 Worth of Hydroponic Cannabis in Springbok Parcel Interception

Swift action by the Springbok Highway Patrol and Springbok K9 units led to the confiscation of hydroponic cannabis with an estimated street value of R289,200.00 on Monday, 20 April 2026.

According to a police statement, the seizure occurred at approximately 12:40. Officers responded to information regarding a suspicious package that was emitting a strong odour of cannabis at a local Paxi company.

Upon inspection of the parcel, authorities discovered one large plastic bag filled with hydroponic cannabis.

Information indicates the parcel was dispatched from Durban and was destined to be collected by an unknown individual.

An enquiry has been registered for further investigation. No arrests have been made at this stage.
