Detectives are investigating a murder after a 59-year-old man was found fatally shot inside a vehicle near his home in Phahameng.
According to police, on Thursday, 2 April at approximately 19:00, officers were called to a shooting incident in the Phahameng location. Upon arrival at the scene, officers observed a white Suzuki Fronx parked near a gate. An African female approached them and directed them to the vehicle.
Inside the vehicle, police found an African male, identified by his wife as Masikane David Moletsane (59). The victim was seated in the driver’s seat with his head resting on the passenger seat. He was unresponsive and had a gunshot wound to the neck. Emergency services personnel declared him dead at the scene.
According to information available, the victim was outside parking vehicles in the garage. As he was about to park the third vehicle, his wife and daughter, who were inside the house, allegedly heard two gunshots. They immediately went to investigate and noticed that the driver’s window was shattered. Upon opening the driver’s door, they found the deceased covered in blood, with his head slumped toward the passenger side.
The motive for the murder remains unclear at this stage. Police investigations are ongoing, and no arrests have been made yet.
