A 17-year-old male suspect will appear before the Mankweng Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 21 April 2026, in connection with a murder at Monateng tavern in Ga-Thoka.
According to allegations, on Sunday, 19 April 2026, at approximately 03:30, the victim was at the tavern with friends when a suspect approached the group. An argument erupted, and the victim, together with his friends, fled toward a residence located a street away from the tavern.
Police reports indicate the suspect chased the victim from the tavern, caught up with him, and stabbed him with a sharp object.
A murder case was registered at Mankweng South African Police Service (SAPS). The suspect was traced and arrested later the same day. The investigation remains ongoing.
