An intelligence-driven operation by members attached to Operation Lockdown III and Crime Intelligence resulted in the discovery of a hunting rifle and one round of ammunition.
Members followed up on information regarding firearms stored at a premises in the Covid informal settlement, Mfuleni. Upon arrival, members searched the informal dwelling and located a hunting rifle and one round of ammunition inside the shack.
An enquiry was registered. The rifle was handed in as an exhibit for further processing. No arrests have been made, and investigations are continuing.
