On Wednesday, 13 May 2026, authorities carried out a coordinated disruptive operation in the Malamulele policing area, resulting in the arrest of two foreign male suspects at Muchipisi village, Muchipisi mine.
During the operation, law enforcement officials seized equipment linked to illegal mining activities.
The two suspects are expected to appear before the Malamulele Magistrate’s Court soon. They face charges of contravention of the Precious Metals Act and contravention of the Immigration Act.
