Police Seize Drugs and Ammunition in Winnie Section Operation

Members of the Sasolburg Public Order Policing (POP) Unit arrested a 39-year-old male suspect during an operation in Tumahole on Thursday, 23 April 2026.

At approximately 01:30, members of POP Platoon 01 acted on information received regarding a residence in Winnie Section, Tumahole, allegedly being used for the sale and distribution of drugs. Upon arrival at the identified premises, the members conducted a search that led to the suspect’s arrest.

During the search, police recovered 21 mandrax tablets, ziplock bags containing crystal methamphetamine, and two live rounds of ammunition.

The suspect has been charged with possession of drugs and unlawful possession of ammunition. He is expected to appear before the Parys Magistrate’s Court soon.
