On Tuesday afternoon, 21 April 2026, at approximately 12:45, members of the Makhaza Anti-Hijacking Team were alerted to a delivery vehicle hijacking in the Makhaza area.
The members mobilized and recovered the vehicle at Nxaruni Street, J-Section, Khayelitsha. The driver and passenger were present at the scene. The victims reported that the suspects had transferred all parcels from the delivery vehicle into another vehicle before departing the location.
Acting on follow-up information, the members conducted a search at premises on Mcewule Street, J-Section, Khayelitsha. All stolen property, with an estimated value of R250,000.00, was recovered at the location.
A 22-year-old female was arrested at the premises after being found in possession of the property. The arrest was made in connection with a Lingelethu West case.
The suspect is expected to appear at the Khayelitsha Magistrate’s Court once formally charged with possession of stolen property.
