A 42-year-old man from Tseseng Village surrendered to police over the weekend and was formally charged with rape and attempted rape. The charges stem from alleged incidents involving his two stepdaughters, aged 14 and 18.
According to allegations, the first incident occurred in 2022. The 18-year-old victim was at home with her stepfather when he allegedly entered her bed and raped her. She did not report the incident to her mother, stating she believed her mother would not believe her, but she did disclose the alleged assault to her guardian. A case of rape is under investigation in connection with this incident.
In a separate allegation, on 6 April 2026, the 14-year-old sister stated that her stepfather gave her money and showed her a condom, explaining its use. It is further alleged that he attempted to force himself on her, but she managed to flee. A case of attempted rape is being investigated regarding this incident.
The suspect was informed that police were searching for him and subsequently handed himself over to authorities over the weekend.
He is expected to appear before the Tseseng Magistrate’s Court tomorrow, 21 April 2026, to face charges of rape and attempted rape.
