A 45-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder, rape, and kidnapping of a 7-year-old girl in Parkside.
The child’s body was discovered at a dumpsite in Second Creek, Parkside, on April 4, 2026. An autopsy confirmed she had been raped and strangled.
The suspect is scheduled to appear in the East London Magistrate’s Court on April 9, 2026, facing charges of murder, rape, and kidnapping.
The South African Police Service (SAPS) has commended the swift work of the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit and all other role players involved. The investigation remains ongoing.
