Two Suspects Arrested in Krugersdorp Drug Raid, Drugs Worth R1.7 Million Seized

Members of the Gauteng Highway Patrol have arrested two suspects, aged 52 and 53, for possession of drugs following an intelligence-driven operation on Sunday, 15 March 2026.

According to police reports, authorities acted on a tip-off regarding drugs allegedly being stored at a specific premises in Noordheuwel. Officers proceeded to the identified address, where permission to conduct a search was granted by the occupant.

During the initial search, police inspected a vehicle parked on the property and discovered a bag containing drugs with an estimated street value of approximately R900,000. This discovery led to the immediate arrest of one suspect.

A subsequent search inside the residence uncovered a large quantity of additional drugs in one of the bedrooms, valued at an estimated R800,000. A second suspect was arrested at the scene.

The combined street value of the confiscated drugs is estimated to be over R1.7 million.

The two suspects are scheduled to appear before the Krugersdorp Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 17 March 2026.
