The Welkom Anti-Gang Unit arrested two suspects, aged 18 and 19, on Monday, 2 March 2026, for possession of drugs in Bohlokong.
The arrests occurred during ongoing anti-drug operations in the Bethlehem and Bohlokong areas. Police acted on information received from community members about a male suspect selling drugs near an open field close to the mall.
Officers approached the suspect, who matched the description provided. A search of the 19-year-old male revealed seven packets of crystal meth weighing approximately 1.7 grams and an undisclosed amount of cash.
The unit then proceeded to a house in Bohlokong, where they arrested an 18-year-old suspect. Officers found crystal meth weighing approximately 0.8 grams, mandrax tablets including one crushed tablet, and cash in his possession.
Both suspects are scheduled to appear before the Bethlehem Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 4 March 2026, facing charges of possession of drugs.
