Two Arrested for Alleged Extortion of Construction Company

The Provincial Organised Crime Unit, in conjunction with the Thohoyandou Tactical Response Team (TRT), has arrested two male suspects for allegedly extorting money from a subcontracting company operating in Lwamondo village under the Vuwani policing area.

According to police reports, the incident occurred on Friday, 13 February 2026, at approximately 11:00. Authorities received a complaint regarding four individuals who had allegedly disrupted a construction project tasked with installing WiFi infrastructure.

The suspects, aged 42 and 43, are scheduled to appear before the Vuwani Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 16 February 2026, on charges of extortion.
