Police have opened a murder docket following the death of three men who were allegedly killed by community members on Thursday evening.
According to a police statement, the incident occurred on 05 March 2026 at approximately 18:00. Officers were conducting routine patrols when they were approached by a community member near Vreisgewaagth in Kwaggafontein E. The informant alleged that an individual had been kidnapped in the area.
Acting on the information, police initiated a search for the suspects. While patrolling in Gembokspruit, officers observed a group of community members assaulting three individuals. The victims were located in a Toyota RunX and a VW Polo.
Upon intervention, authorities discovered that the victims had been severely assaulted. Paramedics were summoned to the scene, but the three men were certified dead.
No arrests have been made in connection with the killings. Police have confirmed that an investigation is underway.
