Three Arrested After Explosives Found

A multidisciplinary crime-fighting operation has resulted in the arrest of three suspects and the seizure of a substantial quantity of explosives.

Members of the Vala Umgodi team conducted an operation in Thabong on Wednesday afternoon, leading to the discovery of the explosives. The three individuals were taken into custody at the scene.

According to the South African Police Service (SAPS), the suspects face charges of Illegal Possession of Explosives and Conspiracy to Commit Crime.

Police management have emphasized their ongoing commitment to removing dangerous materials from communities. The SAPS has noted that such explosives are frequently linked to high-risk criminal activities, including ATM bombings and Cash-in-Transit robberies. The suspects are expected to appear in court soon.
