Police have arrested a 35-year-old man in connection with a double murder in Embalenhle on Thursday night, 01 January 2026.
The arrest occurred on the morning of Saturday, 03 January 2026, between Leandra and Devon. During the arrest, police recovered a firearm with ammunition and two magazines. The serial number on the firearm had been filed off.
The weapon will undergo ballistic testing to determine if it was used in the double murder or in other crimes. The suspect currently faces a charge of unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition. Police continue to investigate his potential connection to the murders.
