Suspect Arrested in Limpopo for Tavern Massacre

The Gauteng Serious and Violent Crime Investigations team arrested one suspect in Limpopo on 21 December 2025 for the Atteridgeville mass shooting.

The suspect is linked to the 6 December 2024 attack at an illegal Saulsville shebeen, where three gunmen killed 12 people and injured 13 others.

Police recovered an unlicensed handgun during the arrest. The firearm will undergo ballistic analysis at the Forensic Science Laboratory.

The suspect appears in the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court today, 22 December 2025, on charges of possessing an unlicensed firearm and ammunition. He will then be transferred to Gauteng to face 12 counts of murder and 13 counts of attempted murder.

The manhunt for the two remaining suspects continues.
