Members of the Mashashane Police Station have arrested a 40-year-old man for the brutal murder of his 87-year-old mother in Sebora Village. The horrific crime was discovered on Saturday, 28 June 2025, at approximately 15:00.
According to police reports, officers responded to a missing person complaint filed by a concerned neighbor who had not seen the elderly woman for over two days. Upon arrival at the victim’s home, authorities were met with a grisly scene—the woman’s dismembered body parts were found stuffed inside plastic buckets.
Several items believed to have been used in the commission of the crime were also recovered at the scene. The victim’s son, who was present, was immediately arrested after failing to provide a satisfactory explanation for the gruesome act.
Police are still investigating the motive behind the killing, which has been described as senseless and deeply disturbing.
The suspect is set to appear before the Seshego Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 30 June 2025, where he will face a charge of murder.
