On Wednesday 13 November 2024 at 09:00, the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) High Speed Unit Officers, arrested seven (7) speeding male drivers, between the ages of twenty six (26) and sixty (60), for failing to adhere to speed limit, in the Springs area.
While performing their law enforcement duties, monitoring high speed,on Nigel Road, Officers apprehended motorists operating vehicles namely, a white Opel, white Toyota Quantum, blue Nissan, white Volkswagen Bakkie, white Nissan and blue Toyota Corolla.
All drivers failed to adhere to the designated speed limit of 60km/h, were arrested and taken to Springs Police Station, facing charges of exceeding the speed limit.
As the festive season is approaching and everyone will be embarking to different holiday destinations, as the department, it is our priority to ensure that all road users obey to the rules of the road.
