Police, Security Firm Arrest Two, Recover R80,000 in Stolen Goods

On Thursday, 1 January 2026, South African Police Service members and Rhino Security Company acted on information and searched a house in Mapoteng, Kathu.

They recovered suspected stolen property valued at over R80,000. The items, including a television, speaker, shoes, clothes, bags, and suitcases, are believed to be from a housebreaking reported earlier that day.

A 35-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman were arrested after failing to provide a satisfactory explanation for owning the goods.

The two suspects will appear soon in the Kathu Magistrate’s Court. The investigation continues.
