Police conducted a cordoned and search operation at the Saulsville Hostel on the evening of Wednesday, 21 January 2026.
During the operation, twelve suspects were arrested for possession of drugs, dealing in dagga, possession of dangerous weapons, dealing in liquor without a license, and contravention of the Immigration Act. Three additional suspects, who were wanted for an armed robbery committed in January 2026, were also arrested.
Upon searching rooms, police found and seized one revolver, eight dagga zip-lock bags, and one replica firearm. Liquor was confiscated as police closed down an unlicensed liquor outlet.
