On Saturday night, members of the Mfuleni Crime Prevention Unit arrested two suspects in separate incidents during patrols in Wesbank.
At 22:30 in Galvandale Street, officers spotted a gang-affiliated male. He fled when approached but was pursued and apprehended. A search found a firearm without a serial number hidden in the seam of his pants. He was arrested for possession of a prohibited firearm.
Subsequently, on Misty Road, members approached another gang-affiliated male. He drew a black firearm and pointed it at them. Officers disarmed him and seized the weapon, which was identified as an imitation firearm. He was arrested for possession of an imitation firearm.

Both suspects will appear in the Bluedowns Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 12 January 2026.
