On Friday, 13 March 2026, members of the South African Police Service (SAPS) in Vryheid arrested a 55-year-old man for the unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition.
Police conducted an intelligence-driven operation at the Bhekuzulu township following a tip-off regarding an individual in possession of unlicensed weapons.
