Police are investigating a murder following an incident in Kanana’s Extension 12 on Saturday, 24 January 2026.
Neighbours reported hearing an argument at the couple’s home. The woman fled to a neighbouring yard and sought help. When neighbours opened their door, they found her on the ground with her boyfriend present.
The boyfriend fled in the girlfriend’s vehicle. Upon arrival, police and EMS declared the woman dead from multiple stab wounds.
The 33-year-old suspect was traced to Kroonstad with serious injuries. He is under police guard in a local hospital.
He is expected to appear in the Orkney Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 27 January 2026, charged with murder. The investigation continues.
