The Harrismith Regional Court has sentenced a 36-year-old man to 20 years of direct imprisonment for the rape of his mother.
The incident occurred in January 2025.
The case was investigated by Warrant Officer Sethunya January Tsotetsi of the Vrede Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit.
Magistrate Mrs. P. Botes presided over the case, with Mr. Sam Champher serving as the prosecutor.
