A 38-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of his wife, whose body was discovered in a stream.
According to police, the victim was reported missing on 03 March 2026 following allegations that her husband had stabbed her and locked her inside their residence. When authorities arrived at the scene, both the husband and wife were not present.
A search operation was launched for both individuals. On 05 March 2026, the husband was located in Vereeniging with the assistance of the Community Police Forum. During questioning, he led police to a nearby stream where the victim’s body was found concealed inside a recycling bag.
The suspect was subsequently arrested and charged with murder. He is scheduled to appear before the Vereeniging Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 09 March 2026.
