Mkingie Imani Khamis (40) appeared in the Pretoria Magistrates Court on Monday, 19 January 2026, charged with possession and dealing in drugs.
The arrest followed a police operation on 17 January 2026. Members of the Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation (SOCI) team and the Tshwane Drug Unit searched Khamis’s premises in Gezina, Pretoria.
Police discovered drugs in his bedroom with an estimated street value of R1.8 million.
The investigation began in July 2025 after the SOCI unit received information about an alleged drug operation in Pretoria.
Khamis’s case has been postponed to 22 January 2026 for a bail application.
