Limpopo Welcomes 30-Year Sentence for Rape Conviction

The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service (SAPS) in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, has welcomed the sentencing of a 28-year-old accused to 30 years’ direct imprisonment for rape.

The sentence was handed down by the Seshego Regional Court on Wednesday, 18 March 2026.

The accused is currently serving a life imprisonment sentence for a similar offence. The 30-year sentence will run concurrently with the existing life sentence.
