The Bloemfontein High Court, sitting at the Ficksburg Magistrate’s Court this past Thursday, 13 November 2025, handed down a life imprisonment sentence to Motsamai Justice Mosiuoa (35) for the murder of his girlfriend, Analisa Heleni (25).
The court heard that the tragic incident occurred on the evening of 10 November 2024. Mosiuoa and Heleni, who resided together near Clocolan in Hlohlolwane, had arrived at a witness’s residence. There, an altercation broke out after the deceased accused another woman of having an affair with the accused. The homeowner subsequently asked the couple to leave the premises.
As they walked outside, Mosiuoa launched a violent assault on his girlfriend. He dragged her for approximately two meters along a dirt road towards their home. The attack escalated when he repeatedly battered her head against a concrete slab.
An eyewitness who attempted to intervene was chased away by the accused while holding a baby. Mosiuoa then locked himself and the victim inside their house. The eyewitness summoned an ambulance, but Mosiuoa refused to open the door.
It was only the following day, on Monday, 11 November 2024, after realizing Heleni was unresponsive, that Mosiuoa called for an ambulance. Paramedics declared her deceased at the scene.
Initially, police opened an inquest docket as there were no visible injuries on the victim. However, a post-mortem examination later revealed severe internal injuries, which directly corroborated the eyewitness’s account. This critical finding led authorities to change the inquest to a murder case, resulting in Mosiuoa’s arrest and charge.
