In the early hours of this morning, our volunteer community responders were dispatched to a residence in Nieuw Muckleneuk following reports of an attempted house robbery. During the incident, the homeowner allegedly discharged his firearm, resulting in the suspect sustaining a gunshot wound.
Upon arrival, our responders found the suspect injured and immediately initiated first aid treatment. Reaction officers from multiple security companies assisted in securing the scene and ensuring the safety of everyone present. The suspect was stabilised on-site, and care continued until
Gauteng Emergency Medical Services (GEMS) paramedics arrived and took over treatment.
The incident is currently under investigation by the South African Police Service (SAPS).
