A 22-year-old man is set to face charges in the Muizenberg Magistrate’s Court after members of the Anti-Gang Unit uncovered a loaded firearm hidden inside a bed at a residence in Gladiola Street.
The operation, which was unrelated to the Manenberg raid earlier that morning, took place on Tuesday, 03 March 2026. During a meticulous search of the premises, officers discovered a .45 caliber pistol along with six rounds of ammunition concealed within the base of a bed.
The suspect was arrested immediately for the illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition. Police have confirmed that he will appear before the Muizenberg Magistrate’s Court soon after being formally charged.
