A 41-year-old foreign national is scheduled to appear in court on Monday after he was apprehended during a police patrol on Friday, 13 March 2026, in possession of a suspected stolen CCTV camera, drugs, ammunition, and weapons.
According to police reports, members of the Ficksburg Police Station were conducting routine stop-and-search operations in the town at approximately 13:00 when they observed a man acting suspiciously. Officers subsequently stopped and searched the individual.
During the search, authorities discovered and confiscated the following items:

Dagga (cannabis) weighing approximately 0.15 grams.

A CCTV camera suspected to be stolen.

A dangerous weapon.

Housebreaking implements.

Ammunition.
The suspect was immediately taken into custody. He has been formally charged with possession of suspected stolen property, possession of housebreaking implements, unlawful possession of ammunition, dealing in dagga, and possession of a dangerous weapon.
The 41-year-old is expected to make his first appearance before the Ficksburg Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 16 March 2026.
