Parkweg police have made a significant breakthrough in a violent house robbery case that resulted in the death of a 75-year-old man. A 39-year-old suspect is now in custody following an intense investigation.
The incident occurred at the home of Mr. Albertus Opperman. According to police reports, the discovery was made by the victim’s domestic worker upon arriving at the residence. She encountered two unknown men inside the house and immediately fled to a neighbour’s home to raise the alarm and seek help.
Upon returning to the scene with assistance, Mr. Opperman was found with a fatal stab wound to his chest. The suspects had already fled the premises after being discovered by the domestic worker. Emergency services pronounced the 75-year-old deceased at the scene.
Following a thorough manhunt and investigation, Parkweg police identified and arrested a suspect identified as Moeketsi John Mosioua.
Mosioua has since made an initial appearance in court. The case has been scheduled for a formal bail hearing on Friday, 26 September 2025. Police investigations are ongoing.
