A coordinated police operation in the Manenberg precinct on Monday night led to the arrest of a 32-year-old man on multiple charges, including the possession of a prohibited firearm and dealing in drugs.
The operation was initiated by members attached to the Anti-Gang Unit, who were deployed to the area at approximately 10:50 PM on Monday, 10 November 2025. Their primary objective was to stabilize the Manenberg policing precinct and prevent gang-related crimes and other contact crimes.
Acting on intelligence and as part of their self-initiated, disruptive strategy, the officers conducted targeted operations in the vicinity of Heideveld and the greater Manenberg area. During these efforts, a suspect was identified and apprehended.

The 32-year-old man was arrested and now faces serious charges. The charges include:
-
Possession of a prohibited firearm
-
Illegal possession of ammunition
-
Dealing in drugs and/or possession of drugs
The arrest and seizure are seen as a direct result of the unit’s focused efforts to disrupt criminal gang activities and improve safety in the community. The suspect is expected to appear in a local court in the coming days.
